Seminar Times, Dates and Bookings
|
|
The seminars start promptly at 10AM. Please call Adam Winter on 07985 969 018 to request a date and make a booking. I might be flying so leave a message and I will get straight back to you. I only take eight students for each session, so call early to guarantee a place.
The flying is of course subject to favourable weather conditions, therefore the sessions are subject to cancellation and rescheduling.

I am a commercial pilot and senior flight instructor with over 20 years experience in the field. During the summer season I fly in the African bush. My seminars take place at the London School of Flying at Elstree Aerodrome, Biggin Hill Airport, Blackbushe Airport, Denham Aerodrome, and Rochester Airport. |

The seminars are designed to stimulate an interest and to introduce the main career paths available within the aviation industry, and to encourage further research into them. As well as talking about careers, we also look into the history of aviation, the jet engine, the requirements and necessity for aeronautical engineering and maintenance, and the science of meteorology.

The flying lesson is designed to give the students a taste of what it is like to be part of the industry. Before flying there is a full pre-flight briefing during which we look at the primary and secondary effects of controls, a walk around the aircraft and pre-flight inspection, and a weather brief issued for the day by the aviation arm of the Meteorological Office. The flight itself consists of a half hour at the controls and a half hour of observation. As well as flying the plane, the students talk to air traffic control. Above all the flying lesson is designed to be fun, as are all other aspects of the seminar. At the end of the flight the students are given a temporary log of the flight, which is recognised by the Civil Aviation Authority as exercise 4:1 of the requirements toward a pilot’s licence.
In this website, students have access to information on all aviation and aerospace based higher and further education degrees and vocational qualifications available. There is a ‘contact us’ page where all e-mail enquiries will be answered by professionals working in relevant fields. Students who attend our seminars can also request a further consultation or visit to an Air Traffic Control Unit, an engineering company, and the “Guild Pilot Aptitude Assessment Scheme”, run by the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators” (click here for more details).
