Additional information
Why Astrophysics?
Astrophysics, like the other numerate sciences, is regarded as a bench-mark for intellectual achievement.
With an Astrophysics degree you will command respect where ever life leads you. It is also one of the most exciting subjects going, where you gain an insight to the workings of some of the most extreme environments known to man. In studying Astrophysics you will learn many of the fundamentals of other numerate sciences, applying them to astrophysical problems.
There is a strong international research community, with groups of astrophysicists located literally world wide. Graduates in Astrophysics are also highly employable (and highly paid) outside academia in areas such as:
- aerospace
- bioinformatics
- computer programming
- financial institutes
- government departments
- medical statistics
- mobile phones and computing
- nuclear industries
- project management
- resource exploitation
- teaching
- web development
