Requirements

Foundation Degrees- Minimum of one pass at A2 or 6 Unit AVCE (Maths/Science)plus three passes at GCSE Grade A-C. Min 40 Points

BSc (Hons)- Minimum of two passes at A2 or 12 Unit AVCE (Maths/Science) plus three passes at GCSE Grade A-C. Min 80 Points

BTEC National Diploma-4 GCSEs A* -C ( in Maths higher paper preferred). Students who have not achieved the higher paper will be required to take a Maths test. Science and English are desirable, plus one other subject.

"The aerospace industry, particularly the operating airlines and manufacturers, are now seeking technicians qualified to fill the roles of those who certify aircraft fit to fly. Success on this course will place you ideally to compete for one of these positions, either within the aircraft maintenance sector or in the aircraft manufacturing industry.

Apart from these opportunities, if you do well on the course you will have the opportunity of progressing to the third year of the Honours course in Aeronautical Engineering Degree. This will enable you to pursue a career in aircraft design, air transport management or avionics systems engineering."

"The BTEC National Diploma is a level 3 course which is equivalent to three A levels.
The School of Engineering is a Centre of Vocational Excellence in Aeronautical Engineering and is able to provide modern facilities in terms of laboratories and workshops.

Progression to work based training and the advanced apprenticeship framework at NVQ Level 3, or to Higher Education. Many level 3 students progress within the School to our own Degree Level Programmes.

Degree Academy
This course forms part of our Degree Academy scheme and is open to all Advanced Level Students working towards a minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C and who are determined to succeed.
