Nearly all British higher education institutions are members of UCAS, and students wishing to study for first degrees in the UK must apply through UCAS.

UCAS tariff points.

UCAS has a tariff system (UCAS points), which allows qualifications to be converted into points (click here to go to the tariff points page on the UCAS website) and then added together to give a total that can be used as a requirement to get into a course.
